Early genetic testing is fast becoming the standard for maternal/fetal medicine at Baystate Medical Center in

The earlier testing allows parents to learn if they are at increased risk of having a baby with chromosomal abnormalities and gives them the option to elect more invasive, definitive testing like chorionic villus sampling, or CVS, so they can develop a plan about how to prepare for a higher risk pregnancy or terminate it earlier with less risk of complications.
