Roughly 11 million cosmetic surgeries were performed last year in the U.S., according to statistics released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). It’s frightening that many of the people receiving these procedures haven’t done their due diligence and get much of their information — and expectations — from unrealistic television programs. Also, many doctors are certified for these procedures in nothing more than a weekend crash course.
