A plastic surgeon has performed the first permanent silicone lip implant operation in Britain.
According to a report in The Sunday Times, the implants, made from the same material as breast implants can be inserted into the lips in just fifteen minutes.
The new implants, called PermaLip, cost between £2,000 and £2,500, and are marketed at patients who either want to boost the size of their lips, or whose lips have narrowed with age.
