Two recent studies presented at the prestigious congress of the American Association for Cancer Research reinforce the long list of observations that the abundant consumption of vegetable-origin foods significantly reduces the risk of developing several types of cancer.

Head and neck cancer refers to cancers in the oral cavity (mouth, lips, tongue and gums), the larynx, the throat and the sinuses. The sixth-leading cause of death by cancer in the world, head and neck cancers are extremely difficult to treat and are responsible each year for the deaths of 350,000 people.
