I suffer from skin envy when it comes to comparing celebrities (female) and my humble self. I know… It’s not nice to be jealous. But when you’ve achieved a “certain age” (and I try not to think about just what my current age is), it’s all too easy to feel shocked when you spy yourself in a magnifying mirror.
Now, I don’t own a magnifying mirror (imagine the horror of actually having one!), but I can never resist peering in them when I shop in a department store or drugstore. Wrinkles that seemed relatively minor in my benevolent bathroom mirror suddenly take on the proportions of the Grand Canyon. Lines barely noticeable at home abruptly resemble cavernous etchings.
