Women's health and rights are central to social and economic justice and global well being. When the fundamental rights of women are respected and their health and educational needs are addressed, then communities as well as nations are stronger, safer, and more stable. Founded in 1984 by Joan Dunlop and Adrienne Germain, the International Women’s Health Coalition works in three ways to build political will and influence the policies of governments, donors, and international agencies to secure girls' and women's sexual and reproductive health and rights
